On April 12, teacher-student exchange group from Coventry University visited our school. The first stop of their tour was the intelligent vehicle design & development innovation laboratory located at No. 1 teaching building. The members of the laboratory gave them a warm welcome, introduce the members of intelligent vehicle team to the exchange group and debugged and demonstrated vehicle track experiment.
On April 13, the exchange group visited the laboratory of the School and was introduced to experiment rigs such as five-axis polishing machine, non-contact ultra-high temperature mechanical properties test, grinding processing, intelligent manufacturing platform and high-speed ball wire rod. The exchange group then went to our Schools’ innovation practice base for a visit. Under the guidance of four faculty members including Li Xiaoru, Zhou Long, Wang Fei and Wang Jun, the exchange group members listened to electromechanical innovation practice classes and participated in powerless robot assembly walking competition. The students were very interested in the competition which inspired them to move forward courageously and achieve continuous improvement.
On April 17, organized by Qian Wei, the vice president of the School, and Guo Miaoxian, a faculty member, the exchange group of Coventry University and Engineers Class (Honours) held an innovation projects presentation seminar. At the beginning of the seminar, the monitor of the Engineers Class (Honours) gave a welcome speech. Then, 12 groups of innovation projects were presented on the stage. Students and teachers of Coventry University listened to the presentation attentively and had a heated discussion with students from the Engineers Class (Honours). Students and teachers of Coventry University spoke highly of the innovation spirit of students of our School and their expectations for our future innovation projects. At the end of the event, Guo Miaoxian expressed appreciation for the valuable suggestions from students and teachers of Coventry University and encouraged students to engage in innovation and enhance individual capabilities through exploration.
USST and Coventry University has maintained a sound cooperation relationship. Student-teacher group of Coventry University paid an exchange visit to our School every year for the purpose of further enhancing the innovation abilities of undergraduate students of the two schools through joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and creating a training mode for advanced application-type professional against the international education background.
